Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how ADB Media LLC (“ADB Media”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use the CADto3D website (https://cadto3d.com) or engage our mechanical CAD conversion and modeling services.

This policy applies to customers located in the United States and other non-EU/EEA regions. If you are located in the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, your services are provided by BRIA SARL under a separate Politique de Confidentialité that complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Information we collect

We collect personal information in three ways: directly from you, automatically through technical means, and from third parties involved in service delivery.

Information you provide directly

When you request a quote or engage our services, you provide:

  • Identity and contact information: full name, email address, company name (if applicable), country
  • Project details: service type, input file format, target output format, complexity assessment, turnaround needed, project notes
  • Uploaded files: technical drawings, CAD files, photographs of physical parts, datasheets, sketches, and other source materials you provide for conversion or modeling
  • Communications: any correspondence you send us by email or through the website

Information we collect automatically

When you visit our website, we automatically collect:

  • Technical information: IP address (anonymized via Google Analytics 4), browser type, operating system, referring URL, language preference
  • Usage information: pages viewed, time spent on pages, navigation paths
  • Cookie information: as described in Section 8

Information from third parties

We receive information from the third-party service providers we use to deliver services, listed in Section 5.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Service delivery: to provide quotes, perform CAD conversion and modeling work, deliver completed files, and communicate about ongoing projects
  • Customer support: to respond to inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and provide assistance
  • Business operations: to manage invoicing, accounting, and contractual obligations
  • Service improvement: to analyze website usage and improve our content and user experience
  • Legal compliance: to comply with applicable laws, respond to lawful requests from authorities, and enforce our Terms of Service
  • Security: to detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security incidents, and other harmful activity

4. Legal basis for processing (where applicable)

For United States customers, processing is based on the contractual relationship between you and ADB Media LLC and on our legitimate business interests.

For customers in regions with comprehensive data protection laws, our legal basis for processing is:

  • Performance of a contract (delivering the services you have requested)
  • Compliance with our legal obligations
  • Our legitimate interests in operating and improving our business
  • Your consent, where specifically required (such as for analytics cookies in the European Union)

Each provider processes personal information only as needed to perform its specific function and is bound by its own privacy and security obligations.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your personal information for advertising purposes.

6. International data transfers

Our services involve the transfer of personal information, including uploaded files, to our engineering services partner located outside the European Economic Area.

We take reasonable steps to ensure that personal information transferred internationally receives adequate protection, including contractual confidentiality obligations with our partner.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, please refer to BRIA SARL’s Politique de Confidentialité for details on the safeguards applicable to your data.

7. Data retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy:

  • Quote requests: retained for the duration of our active business relationship and as required for legal, accounting, and audit purposes
  • Uploaded source files: deleted from our systems within 90 days after project completion
  • Delivered output files: retained by us for 30 days after delivery to enable redelivery; the customer is responsible for archiving the deliverable
  • Communications and correspondence: retained for up to 5 years for business records purposes
  • Analytics data (Google Analytics): retained for 14 months as set in Google Analytics user-data retention settings

The engineering services partner retains files according to its own policies, typically not exceeding 12 months after project completion.

8. Cookies and tracking

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our website. Google Analytics is configured with IP anonymization enabled.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels for retargeting, session replay, or heatmap analytics.

For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, analytics cookies are disabled by default and require explicit consent via our cookie consent banner. For visitors in the United States, analytics are loaded by default; you may opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on or by enabling Do Not Track signals in your browser.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Correction: request correction of inaccurate information
  • Deletion: request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal and contractual retention obligations
  • Portability: request transfer of your information to another service in a structured format
  • Opt-out: opt out of certain processing (analytics, communications)
  • Withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, withdraw consent at any time

California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete personal information, the right to correct inaccurate personal information, the right to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (we do neither), the right to limit use of sensitive personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

Florida residents

Florida residents have rights under the Florida Digital Bill of Rights including access, correction, deletion, portability, and opt-out of targeted advertising (we do not engage in targeted advertising).

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@cadto3d.com. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law. You may need to verify your identity before we process your request.

10. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

  • HTTPS/TLS encryption for all communications between your browser and our website
  • Access controls limiting personal data access to authorized personnel
  • Confidentiality obligations with all sub-processors and the engineering services partner
  • NDAs available for customers handling proprietary or sensitive technical information

No security measure is perfect. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to maintain industry-standard protections.

11. Children

Our services are not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us at hello@cadto3d.com and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and notify you through the website or by email where appropriate.

We conduct a manual review of this policy at least every six months to ensure continued compliance with applicable regulations. The next scheduled review date is listed at the top of this document.
